Dust Catches Light is the account of Sjøvold’s own pregnancy, a story of trying to adapt to a new situation within a known environment and where roles and relationships constantly shift.
Dust Catches Light evolved upon Sjøvold’s return to Norway in 2008, following a long period abroad. The book is connected to the project She is, which has been exhibited at Les Visas de l'ANI, Bar Floreal in Paris (2009) and the empty home of Sjøvold’s grandparents in Krokstadelva (2010).
The book is published by Gösta Flemming / Journal Publishing, Stockholm and is supported by Fritt Ord and Norske Fagfotografers Fond.
