She Is: Part One

by Marie Sjøvold

The six last weeks of my own pregnancy is captured in She Is; My body's transition from light and youthful to heavy and uncomfortable, the transition from child to parent, from an independent individual to a part of a larger community. Children become parents, parents become grandparents and grandparents, great grandparents. Roles and relationships in the family are redefined when a new family member enters. The pictures of my family and myself became a projection of my own thoughts about this new chapter in my life, where literary I have put them in an imaginary family album, where reality and fiction is intertwined.

Soaked in Colors / My Body is a Piece of Art

by Andrea Gjestvang

This is a tribute to people that use their body as a colorful exhibition space, the butterflies among us.
Tattoos, body painting or extreme make up. Some people do it for fun, whereas for others it is deeply existential. The body is private, but becomes public through the attention received.
For the past years, I have been capturing people with an interesting body history. Through photographing people and subcultures that are obsessed by their image or put a lot of effort into their body, I have been exploring our relationship to our bodies on a personal and social level. Ideals, and what is normal change between different groups of people. What we all have in common is a wish to be seen.

Lost Stories

by Marte Vike Arnesen

Through my ongoing project, Lost Stories, I am  documenting the centralization of rural Norway and how it influences everyday life of the people living there. Fifteen years ago the rural village of Begnadalen was a thriving community. Today there is hardly any infrastructure left. The population has decreased, and jobs are hard to find.

In this project I want to question how it is to live in a village struggling to keep its head above water. On the other side, I will search for the hope and spirit of the people that are working hard to keep the community running.

Andrine 7 years old is the first of five generations I will portray through this project.
